Shedding

With the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse already at a gallop, I take a moment to honour the final shedding of the previous Year of the Wood Snake.

Much like we conduct closing ceremonies at world events, I adopted this exercise to close off a few ‘events’ in my life at which the music stopped playing a while ago. This took the form of letter writing, addressed to relevant parties and for my eyes only. The conscious intention was to say thank you and goodbye, and everything in between that wanted expressing but had been suppressed. The process was confronting. There was anger and disappointment, and gratitude and forgiveness. Best of all, the process was illuminating and liberating.

Now I feel lighter on this galloping horse, carrying me steadily on into the glorious unknown of 2026. Yee-ha! Onward and upward to one and all.
